This week we were fortunate to have a guest speaker Chuck Ossining, District Program Chair, to support Ukraine Refugees, along with Terry Collier to review the current status of the Ukrainian Project. We also had several Ukrainian family refugees present at our meeting that we and our community are currently supporting.
To sponsor a Ukrainian family, we assist with finding housing, jobs, hygiene products, and food until the family can start to support themselves. In addition, we collect hygiene products, food, etc. Once the item has been gathered, the material is prepared for shipment and flown to Ukraine.
Our club has assisted several families in our area, and we continue to collect monies to help purchase materials for local families and families back in Ukraine. Beverly Fisher (our International Committee Chair) presented a check for $500 from our club to Chuck to continue supporting the project.
