Fellowship Committee
Co-Chairpersons: Linda Christle and Allison Walton
The Rotary Club of Dunedin advocates and promotes strong fellowship among Rotarians. Fellowship keeps our members active and fosters cooperation in club activities. The Fellowship Committee creates a calendar distributed through DACdb and sent to all members periodically.
Our fellowship extends to everyone—members, spouses, friends, acquaintances, guests, new members, and potential members. The social aspect of Rotary is one of the most important elements of our organization. It creates fellowship and allows you to get to know your fellow Rotarians and their spouses and partners.
Fellowship lends a hand, advocates for tolerance, and transcends all boundaries.
All are welcome.
The Fellowship Committee allows members to gather in a social atmosphere, creating camaraderie and adding fun to membership. Fellowship has proven to be one of the main drivers of member recruitment and retention.
Monthly Social Gatherings
We host at least one social gathering per month, including:
-
Toronto Blue Jays ballgames
-
Bucs football watch parties
-
Pop-up socials at various Dunedin-area businesses
-
Holiday Gala & Dinner (third Wednesday in December)
Community Impact:
Pop-up socials make the community aware of our club and show businesses we support them—bringing them customers, recognizing them, and publicizing them without always asking for donations. This goodwill helps when soliciting business donations for our Triathlon and Fishing Tournament.
Membership Benefits:
These events welcome spouses and friends for fun evenings where they can learn what Rotary is about and why you belong to this great organization. They're the best opportunity to invite potential members to meet our members in a relaxed social setting, since there isn't much time to chat during regular meetings.
We strive to offer diverse events that our committee members can enjoy without having to work the event.
