Wendy Barmore Music Scholarship
On March 12, 2023, the Rotary Club of Dunedin, the community of Dunedin, and her family lost a dear friend and ambassador—Wendy Barmore.
Wendy was a beloved performer in the area. With her guitar and music, she was well known throughout the community. She was more than a performer—Wendy never knew a stranger and never said no to helping anyone in need. She was a friend to all.

The Scholarship:

The Rotary Club of Dunedin created a music scholarship in Wendy's name. The $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a Dunedin resident high school graduate who majors in music. It is given in Wendy's name and is meant to be perpetual in nature.

If no music major applies in a given year, the scholarship will be skipped that year and the committee will continue to build the funds and raise awareness among students that this scholarship is available.

Fundraising:

The scholarship is funded by Rotary Club of Dunedin members volunteering for many activities throughout the community—sometimes running events and sometimes working for tips.

First Recipient:

The committee was ecstatic to award the first annual $5,000 Wendy Barmore Music Scholarship in spring 2025 to Chloe Stertz. Chloe plans to teach music and perform in the area.
