In Memoriam: Wendy Barmore

On March 12, 2023, the Rotary Club of Dunedin, the local community, and her family lost a dear friend and ambassador.

• The Artist: Wendy was a renowned local performer, well-known throughout the area for her guitar and music.

• The Legacy: Beyond her art, Wendy never knew a stranger, never said no to anyone in need, and was a true friend to all.

 

 

Scholarship Overview

To honor her memory, the Rotary Club of Dunedin established a perpetual music scholarship in Wendy's name. [1]

• Award Amount: $5,000 awarded annually.

• Eligibility: Must be a Dunedin resident, a high school graduate, and a music major.

• Contingency: If no music major applies in a given year, the award is skipped. The committee will use that year to build funds and increase student awareness.

• Funding: Raised by Rotary Club of Dunedin members through community volunteer activities, event management, and working for tips.

• 2025 (Inaugural Winner): Chloe Stertz — Plans to teach music and perform locally.

• 2026 Winner: Jesielle Rosenberg — A lifelong resident of Dunedin pursuing a degree in music.
