Interact Committee:

Interact is a committee that works with students within the high school. The clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. The students find out how serious leadership can be seriously fun.

The club focus is on one national and one international project; the remainder of their work is to be within the community. Their local primary focus is Dunedin Cares.

                                                         GUIDELINES

1. Dunedin Middle School
         a. Faculty advisor retired. School has not replaced advisor
         b. New principal – Need to have discussion of INTERACT

2. Dunedin High School
         a. Principal has not found faculty advisor
         b. INTERACT will be paused until faculty advisor is found 
         c. Board increased the pay for a Faculty Advisor position in 2025 which should cover both middle school advisor and high school advisor
        d. There is a budget to cover expenses for the middle school Interact and the high school Interact. Documentation will help define what high school projects throughout the year
        e. Previous –high school & middle school worked together on at least one project per year. High school members went to middle school to work on the project.

3. Qualifications needed to serve on Interact Committee
         a. Cost $25
         b. Fingerprint
         c. Background check must be completed successfully by local authorities & FBI

4. Interested Rotarian
        a. Review documentation at Rotary International “RI” on overseeing an Interact Club.
        b. Interact is an international fundraising project.
        c. Non-profit recipient of project must be accepted nonprofit on RI list.
