Rotary Goes to the Races

On April 18, 2026, several members of our club took a road trip to Tampa Bay Downs to enjoy an afternoon at the races.

The group reserved the clubhouse, complete with air‑conditioned seating and a buffet lunch—an excellent vantage point for watching the ponies run.

Armed with copies of the Daily Racing Form, everyone studied the odds, made their selections, and placed their bets at the Mutuel Window before returning to their seats to await the start of each race.

While spirits were high and the races were exciting, it appears that no one will be quitting their day job to pursue a career in horse race betting. Still, a great time was had by all, and the outing made for a fun day of fellowship.
