This afternoon the Rotary Clubs of Dunedin and Rebecca Bennett, the District Governor-Nominee Designate, and our District Assistant Governor Ali Page Choiniere from the District celebrated our first annual Peace Pole celebration. We had a great turnout. Dave Eggers from the Pinellas County Commission and some of the City of Dunedin leadership were present to support the event. The choir from Academie Da Vinci joined us and sang three songs to help support the celebration. The Rotary Club of Dunedin President David Kelly opened the celebration. Pastor David Shelor, also from the Rotary Club of Dunedin, led the audience in prayer and introduced Rebecca Bennett, the District Governor-Nominee Designate, who spoke about the Peace Pole and its impact on the world from World War II till current times.
Thanks to Bev Fisher and the Peace Pole Committee for planning this event!
