Introductions From Our New Members

Today, our club President, Rev. Davids Shelor, invited our latest members to introduce themselves to our club membership.











Seema Balwanii shared her experience working for NOAA, where she focused on marine conservation issues like coral reefs, fisheries, and climate change. She highlighted her time spent on research cruises in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, where her team collected marine debris, data, and oceanographic information. Seema also shared the challenges they faced during these expeditions, including dangerous conditions and the importance of their work. Seema emphasized her commitment to public service and her belief in the impact of their work in protecting wildlife and coral reefs. Despite the challenges of climate change, she views it as a nonpartisan issue and hopes that people will make decisions based on the data they collect.

Seema shares details about her personal life, including his passion for solo travel to over 50 countries and her enjoyment of mellow activities like gardening, reading, cooking, and baking. She also mentioned her proficiency in several languages, including German, French, Spanish, and Italian, which he is currently learning.












Jeff Clark talks about living in Dunedin with his wife and having two daughters, one a pharmacist in Ocala and the other starting a new job in Tampa. Jeff discusses his daily walking routine, his interest in supporting causes related to children, cancer, and the military, and his allegiance to the Clemson Tigers.













Rob Scholl introduces himself as the owner of a small inshore fishing company.

Rob shared his experiences growing up in an area that underwent significant changes, attending the University of Colorado at Boulder and his family's strong connection to Clemson. He then described his journey into community service and becoming a fish and wildlife officer. Despite the rigorous academy, his decision to choose Miami for his first stint in the role was influenced by his father's advice for potential safety benefits. Rob shared his journey from being a fish and wildlife officer in Miami to transitioning into e-commerce merchant processing. He eventually moved to Truckee and started a fishing business, emphasizing the importance of the environment and sustainability. Rob expressed gratitude and his intention to join the Rotary Club to contribute to the community actively.
